Buey raza Vianesa - los bueyes de Amaren - Restaurante Amaren - Bilbao - El Templo de la carne - Las mejores chuletas de buey
One of the most important breeds in the Basque Country. Galician families bred these breeds in their first year of life where they were taught to work. After their training, they were sent to the Basque Country by train where they completed their life cycle working in the fields and competing in the sport that has characterised us so much: stone dragging. The latter is also due to their dynamic aptitude, which allows them to travel long distances in search of pasture. These very rustic animals are related to the Alistana Sanabresa breed and have excellent quality meat and milk. Characteristic of the breed are the abundant hairy and hanging formations on the forehead, known as ‘fringes’, and on the auricular pavilion, known as ‘earrings’.
