The region of Arauca is the national region where most animals are worked. For the Portuguese, it is the autochthonous breed
of Portugal with the highest quality meat, which is why practically no specimen leaves its borders, similar to the Japanese Kobe
. They are meats that stand out for their sweet notes. In 1902 the Arouquesa beef was the winner of the ‘Best Meat Prize’ in Paris and is the breed that has won the most livestock competitions. They are distributed in small farms in the mountains of the area, fed a lot under the traditional feeding method of the area. They are long-lived animals with very muscular hind legs.
